The modern age of cheap mass production and mass consumption. Only speed, convenience, and efficiency are prioritized, and disposable use is commonplace. As such values spread, many craftsmen divide their labor, and lacquer products that take several months to make are unfortunately far from people's lives.
“What can we do now?” In 2016, our lacquer raw materials store started “urushi no ippo” to bring people's lives closer to lacquer. This initiative became the basis for various activities that later expanded, and became the starting point for encounters with many friends. This is the first “step” that a lacquerware shop, which had been passive until now, gathered courage and set out.
