Tsutsumi Asakichi Urushi Store - Then & Now

We made a video about the history we have walked through since our establishment in Meiji 42 and our desire to connect the lacquer things we are involved with every day to the future.

For many years, I wanted to tell you how lacquer changes during the refining process, which cannot be seen in reality.

In this video, we created an animation of part of the work of our predecessor when the company was founded, and the mechanism of lacquer refining.

There are endless possibilities with lacquer. Then, it takes a form we haven't even imagined yet, and it will be passed on to the future.

I believe so.

I would be happy if this video helped develop feelings for lacquer, nature, and tradition.
