Fuki-urushi kit
Fuki-urushi is the simplest lacquer art technique in which raw lacquer (lacquer tree sap) is repeatedly "wiped” on wooden surfaces such as chopsticks or bowls to bring out the luster. It matches everyday dining tables and modern house specifications, and is one of the easiest ways to use lacquer regardless of lifestyle or occasion. Urushi no ippo kit
We started the “Urushi no Ippo” project in 2016 because we wanted many people outside of the craft circle to know about lacquer. Then, in 2022, a new kit was created to spread that feeling overseas. It is made so that many people can experience the fun and traditions of Japanese manufacturing. There is also an explanatory video with English subtitles so that even first-time users can use it without worry.
